MIKA PERFORMS AT THE FIRST EDITION OF THE ROCK & DÃO FESTIVAL ON SEPTEMBER 18
The artist is the first name to be announced for the line-up of the inaugural edition of the event, which takes place on September 18 and 19 and brings together music, gastronomy and the famous wines of the region.
With more than 10 million records sold, classical training, a wide vocal range, intelligent lyrics and a visual universe imbued with fantasy, MIKA saw his first two albums – the acclaimed “Life in Cartoon Motion”, released in 2007, and “The Boy Who Knew Too Much”, from 2009 – become outstanding examples of how his music quickly resonated with the public on a large scale. Since then, he has performed for millions of people in the four corners of the planet and released five more albums, composed of songs that have never lost the touch of magical realism from the beginning of his career, which he also makes a point of bringing to his live concerts, such as the one on September 18, at Rock & Dão, which marks the artist's return to our country.
The inaugural edition of the festival takes place on September 18 and 19, at Parque de Santiago, in Viseu, and brings together the music of national and international artists with traditional gastronomy and the excellence of Dão wines, one of the most prestigious Portuguese wine regions. With the institutional support of the Municipality of Viseu, Rock & Dão is born with the ambition of establishing the region as a reference destination for cultural events. Presenting itself as a “boutique festival”, through the appreciation of the quality of its offering, the surrounding atmosphere and the connection to the region, in a distinctive and sensory experience, the event proposes a celebration of the contemporary lifestyle, integrating various gastronomic spaces, social areas and experiences dedicated to the promotion of Dão wines.

This festival is a shared celebration, and our main goal is to continue bringing dynamism, pride and unforgettable moments that enhance our community and put our region on the map,” says Pedro Morais Leitão, Festival Director.
